Plant Manager
Aurora, Illinois

We are seeking a Plant Manager who will be responsible for both the strategic and day-to-day plant operations to include safety, quality, maintenance, service levels, labor planning & retention while considering capacity & constraints of customer demands. The position requires the ability to understand the metrics which drive the operations and how to influence metric improvement for effective material movement, delivery to customers as well as labor retention by assigning standard work with achievement targets and clear action plans. Must be capable of translating objectives and needs into deliverable strategy to achieve business goals as well as ensure the operation has the required materials to create a competitive advantage of the product portfolio.

 

Essential Functions

  • Ensures that manufacturing operation conforms to quality standards and that costs are maintained to meet required financial objectives

  • Drives involvement and participation from the total workforce and drives employee satisfaction

  • Monitors programs within the plant to provide a safe working environment and to ensure that all environmental regulations within compliance

  • Maintains open and productive employee and community relations

  • Demonstrates and promotes total quality values and activities

  • Interacts with external customers and members of the commercial organization to increase customer satisfaction and operating income

  • Responsible for management of local technical resources and programs to translate new products into production

  • Provide leadership to the plant while directing the activities of the facility ensuring goals and objectives of the plant and corporation are met

  • Develop and implement continuous improvement processes for plant metrics to include safety, EBITDA, working capital, inventory, productivity, yield, customer satisfaction

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related degree. MBA is preferred

  • 10 years’ experience in an operations/manufacturing role

  • Five years’ experience in a management role

  • Prior site management experience preferred

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, SPC, and ISO 9001

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and multi-task

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure

  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization
